What students need to be able to do

  • Represent and identify decimals expressed through thousandths using concrete, pictorial, and numerical representations.
  • Read and write decimals expressed through thousandths using concrete, pictorial, and numerical representations.
  • Identify and communicate the place and value of each digit in a decimal through thousandths (e.g., in 0.385, the 8 is in the hundredths place and has a value of 0.08).
  • Compare and order up to four decimals expressed through thousandths using symbols and/or words, and justify comparisons with models.
