What students need to be able to do
- Report orally on a topic or present an opinion clearly and succinctly.
- Provide evidence to support the main idea in oral presentations.
- Use language, vocabulary, and style appropriate to the audience, topic, and purpose.
- Use verbal communication skills such as volume, tone, and enunciation to enhance the message.
- Use nonverbal skills such as posture, gestures, and eye movement to enhance the message.
- Encourage audience participation through planned interactions.
- Reference source material as appropriate during presentations.
