What students need to be able to do
- Compare structural and biochemical similarities and differences among organisms.
- Use fossil record interpretation to classify organisms.
- Use developmental stages in different organisms to classify organisms.
- Identify the three domains (Archaea, Bacteria, Eukarya) based on characteristics of organisms.
- Compare and differentiate the functions and processes of protists, fungi, plants, and animals within the Eukarya kingdoms.
- Explain how systems of classification adapt to new scientific discoveries.
