Graph and analyze trigonometric functions and apply them to represent periodic phenomena.
What students need to be able to do
- Sketch the graph of the six parent trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, cotangent) for at least a two-period interval.
- Determine the domain, range, amplitude, period, and asymptote locations for a trigonometric function given a graph or equation.
- Describe the effects of changing parameters (A, B, C, D) in the standard form of a trigonometric equation on the graph of the function using graphing technology.
- Sketch the graph of a transformed sine, cosine, or tangent function written in standard form for at least a two-period interval.
- Apply trigonometric functions and their graphs to represent periodic phenomena.
