  • Describe the decline of Muslim rule in the Iberian Peninsula that resulted in the expansion of Christian rule and the rise of Spanish and Portuguese kingdoms.
  • Explain the importance of the Catholic church as a political and intellectual institution and its effects on education, religious orders, preservation of languages and texts, and philosophy.
