  • Explain how characteristics of regions lead to regional labels.
  • Describe how regional landscapes reflect the physical environment and cultural characteristics of inhabitants.
  • Analyze how cultural characteristics, including major languages, ethnicities, and religions, link or divide regions.
  • Explain how cartography reflects regional perspectives, points of view, and perceptions of an area and the creation of mental maps.
