What students need to be able to do
- Create a main idea statement and provide an accurate summary of how key events or ideas develop through the text.
- Analyze how the author unfolds a perspective or series of ideas or events in historical, scientific, or technical texts.
- Trace the argument and specific claims in texts and assess whether all the evidence presented is relevant.
